30. Arizona Cardinals (32)

One of the teams who frequented the bottom of the 2018 NFL Power Rankings was the Arizona Cardinals. They creep up just a little here (but not much) as they’ve turned what was a rocky offseason into a nice young roster that has some potential to build with.

Arizona took a lot of heat for firing Steve Wilks after one season as their head coach and then hiring Kliff Kingsbury who was fired by Texas Tech with a losing record.

The coach with the ultimate upward fall then got his quarterback in Kyler Murray. The problem is, Arizona already had Josh Rosen who was taken early in 2018. Not only was he a top-10 pick, but the Cardinals traded a couple of draft picks to get him.

In addition to moving on from Rosen quickly, the Cardinals handled the transition about as poorly as a team possibly could but in the end, they got the quarterback their coach believes in. They followed that up by landing slot receiver Andy Isabella, cornerback Byron Murphy, defensive lineman Zach Allen, and a potential heir to Larry Fitzgerald in Hakeem Butler.

This won’t be a roster competing for the NFC West crown in 2019, but it’s a solid young corps that could start a much-needed turnaround in the desert.
