2. Taryn Christion, Quarterback

Last season, there was a lot of excitement about Mike White being selected out of Western Kentucky. He entered the league as an interesting prospect due to his accuracy and poise in the pocket. Unfortunately, that hasn’t translated to the next level as White has been struggling mightily this preseason.

In the first two games, White has completed just 48.5 percent of his passes for 117 yards and an interception. He still has yet to throw a touchdown in either of his two preseasons and could be in danger of not making the 53-man roster this year.

One sign that he’s in trouble came during Wednesday’s practice as Todd Archer of ESPN reported that Taryn Christion was taking snaps under center in place of White.

An athletically gifted player, Christion moved to wide receiver the following practice and was catching passes from White, but it’s still a story worth watching.

So far, Christion has only played on special teams and there’s a chance he could be used similar to the role Jameil Showers has been handling for several years now. Showers, a former quarterback, has been moved to safety but spends the majority of his time on special teams.

Even with that being the likely scenario with Christion, he could help himself big time by getting some snaps under center and excelling. The Dallas coaches love players who can handle multiple jobs and Christion could be their latest Swiss Army Knife.
