Branden Jackson, DE

The Seahawks are dealing with injuries and suspensions along their defensive line. While the team did acquire talent in the offseason, like Ezekiel Ansah, L.J. Collier and Cassius Marsh, there will still be room for other young linemen to compete for snaps. One player I said to watch for recently was Rasheem Green, but Jackson was Seattle’s best pass rusher against the Chargers.

Jackson finished the game with two tackles (both of which were for losses), a sack and two quarterback hits. The 2016 undrafted free agent spent his rookie season with the Oakland Raiders before coming to Seattle. Since then, he’s been added to the practice squad and then brought up to the active roster multiple times.

After being signed to the active roster on Sept. 25 last year, Jackson appeared in nine games for the Seahawks. In March, he signed a one-year, $720,000 deal to remain with the team for 2019.

Jackson is currently buried under a mountain of other pass rushers on Seattle’s depth chart. However, the team’s defensive line will rotate in many players this year and the personnel will be hard to predict from series to series. Jackson should get some opportunities.
