Is this really even a surprise at this point? Wide receiver J’Mon Moore has arguably been the most disappointing player on the Packers’ offense in training camp so far. And with the log jam of receivers currently on the depth chart, Moore’s chances of making the final 53-man roster appear unlikely.

Moore has struggled with drops throughout and preseason, the same issue that’s plagued his career since his college days at Missouri. Against the Texans in Preseason Week 1, Moore dropped two passes, which included a dropped potential touchdown on a third-down. He redeemed himself on the next play by catching a touchdown on fourth down, but the damage was already done.

Moore only played 18 snaps in Preseason Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, with the majority of those snaps coming on special teams. He wasn’t targeted once throughout the entire game and it’s become abundantly clear Moore’s near the bottom of the depth chart. He only played 15 snaps in Preseason Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders.

Originally drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 draft, Moore was hyped as one of the predecessors to Jordy Nelson. So far, that hasn’t come to fruition. Rather, fellow 2018 rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling took the reins and appears to have a firm lock on the No. 3 receiver spot heading into 2019.
