2.55: Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida State

With their second-round pick, the Browns select long and athletic safety out of Florida State Hamsah Nasirildeen. As the Browns have not found a solid replacement for Jabrill Peppers with Morgan Burnett, Jermaine Whitehead and Eric Murray all filling in on different looks, they must also prepare for the potential loss of Damarious Randall after the season.

The junior Seminole is listed as the 54th ranked player on The Draft Network’s big board, so with the 55th overall pick in the draft, the Browns are getting solid value with Nasirildeen here. Listed at 6-4 and 211 pounds, Nasirildeen has all of the physical tools a team could desire to play at the third level of their defense as well as in big nickel packages.

Like Wirfs, Nasirildeen has also seen playing time since his freshman year at Florida State and is already off to a fast start in his junior campaign with eight solo tackles from the third level of their defense and one pass defended. Last year, Nasirildeen tallied 51 solo tackles, one interception, and two passes defended for Florida State.

Adding a safety early should be a priority for the Browns, and Nasirildeen will have the potential to skyrocket up boards with a solid junior year and decent testing at the combine, given his size. Here the Browns bring him to Cleveland with their second-round selection.
