NFL Power Rankings, Week 4: Daniel Jones ignites Giants, Packers stay perfect
By Randy Gurzi
1. Kansas City Chiefs (1)
Does it even matter who is on the field for the Kansas City Chiefs anymore? Whether it’s wide receiver or running back, they just replace one player with another and they keep putting up big plays. For example, they entered their Week 3 game with Damien Williams already out and watched veteran LeSean McCoy go for 54 yards and a score on eight rushes as well as catching three passes for 26 yards and a second touchdown.
Then, McCoy was hurt and Darrel Williams trots onto the field and runs nine times for 62 yards and adds another 47 yards on five receptions. And he wasn’t the only one making plays in place of an injured player. With Tyreek Hill out injured, the Chiefs have gotten things going with Mecole Hardman who had just two catches but went 97 yards with a touchdown.
Of course, that can happen when you have the reigning MVP under center as the Chiefs do with Patrick Mahomes. He continues to spread the ball around and had another 374-yard performance with three touchdowns against no interceptions.
Their defense has also improved this season which helps them as they look to take the next step and make it to the Super Bowl.
They did allow the Ravens to fight back into this one, but overall they made life hard on one of the more exciting young quarterbacks in the game and did what they had to in order to get the win.
