1. Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Philadelphia Eagles

Perhaps the most sensible trade that the Cleveland Browns could make would be for Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Halapoulivaati Vaitai. Not only is his price tag far lesser than what it would take to land Trent Williams but the 2016 fifth-round pick has also proven to be an effective player at both offensive tackle and guard and could offer great versatility for the Browns front.

Vaitai hasn’t been a perfect player when called upon for the Eagles, but he’s definitely been serviceable. On top of that, he’s still a young player with room to improve. In fact, Vaitai was actually one of the highest-graded offensive linemen in the NFL in the preseason, according to Pro Football Focus.

While the Eagles certainly aren’t going to just give Vaitai to the Browns, they are in a position where they could look to get value for him. After drafting Andre Dillard in the first round this year to play behind starters Jason Peters and Lane Johnson at tackle, Vaitai is now the primary backup at guard. Having said that, they also have 2018 sixth-rounder Matt Pryor in that regard, making Vaitai potentially expendable.

Considering that Vaitai could immediately improve the Browns offensive line at either tackle or guard while also not breaking the bank in terms of what it would cost to trade for him, he’s clearly their best option. The Eagles have always been willing to make a deal, as has Cleveland. And if Dorsey does want to improve this line via trade, this is the best route to explore.
