Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 Bold predictions vs. Jets, Week 8
By Larry Brake
Yannick Ngakoue will have a strip-sack for another touchdown
Last week, Taven Bryan hurried Andy Dalton into throwing a pick-six to Ngakoue. There is plenty of reason to think that Bryan will be able to pressure Sam Darnold. Expect the Jaguars defense to get to Darnold all game long.
Ngakoue is playing this season for a new contract as a reward. He will want to prove his worth for a new high-dollar deal. High production always equals high-dollar contract.
Football Outsiders rank the Jets offensive line near the bottom of the league in run and pass blocking. They are ranked 30th in run blocking. The Jets are 31st in pass protection blocking. Opponents have recorded 26 sacks through the first seven games.
Although the Jaguars defense is far from the 2017 iteration, these guys are playing good enough to compete each week. In reality, Sacksonville is a distant memory. However, this matchup plays into the hands of the Jaguars.
Jacksonville has a very talented defensive line. They will be able to put intense pressure on the Jets quarterback. Pressure will translate into turnovers and scoring opportunities. Ngakoue should be a major player on Sunday.
Josh Allen will figure big in this game, too. He will have multiple sacks in this game. Defense will rule this matchup in the trenches.
