2. Chicago Bears

Watching Mitchell Trubisky at the helm of the Chicago Bears is one of the most frustrating exercises in the NFL. The third-year quarterback has regressed substantially from a strong sophomore campaign in the Windy City and is near-unwatchable at this point. Even when he plays decently, he still severely limits this offense.

Those limitations are what make him so maddening. If you look throughout the Bears roster, this is a team that could win the Super Bowl. Khalil Mack and the defense remain one of the premier units in the NFL while there is talent on the offense. Allen Robinson is a fantastic wide receiver and has nice complementary pieces around him and Tarik Cohen and David Montgomery are solid running back options.

Trubisky, however, brings all of that promise crumbling down. He’s putting an unnecessary cap on this Bears group and Chicago needs to move on from the former North Carolina Tar Heel and No. 2 overall pick. And that leaves them with many options, one of which could be Rivers.

Despite the poor play of the current Chargers quarterback in 2019, he’d still be an upgrade over Trubisky. He would open up the things that this Chicago offense is capable of — with or without Matt Nagy at the helm — and give them a chance to realize their Super Bowl talent elsewhere on the roster.
