17. CB Chris Harris Jr., Denver Broncos

2019 Salary: $11,916,668

Where he will sign: Kansas City Chiefs

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Denver Broncos found a way to retain Chris Harris Jr., who they watched develop from an undrafted free agent into one of the league’s best pure cover cornerbacks. At the same time, I wouldn’t be surprised if he got the hell out of Dodge.

Things aren’t looking up for the franchise, which was rumored to have been shopping Harris ahead of the trade deadline. If they decide that inking the 30-year-old cornerback to a long-term deal isn’t worth the risk, they could let him walk. If that ends up being the case, I could see him joining forces with one of their AFC West foes.

More specifically, I’m predicting Harris joins the Kansas City Chiefs. They’re a terrific team with which the veteran cover man can compete for a Super Bowl in 2020, and they have a significant need at cornerback. Although the Chiefs don’t have a ton of money to spend next offseason, they should be able to find enough room to bring Harris aboard.

As long as Harris doesn’t re-up with the Broncos, the Chiefs make plenty of sense. They’ve got a need for his talents, and he’s got a reason to play against the team that tried to trade him twice per year. Sounds like the perfect match, right?
