Seattle Seahawks: 3 Bold predictions vs. Cardinals, Week 16
By Samuel Teets
2. Chris Carson makes a statement
Besides his fumbling issues, Carson is one of the better running backs in the NFL. His 1,190 rushing yards are the fourth-most in the league and he’s averaging the fifth-most rushing yards per game (85.0). Even if Pro Bowl voting is closed and the selections were announced, fans should take a hard look at Carson’s production over the last two seasons.

In his last 28 games, Carson produced 2,341 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. He also has 56 receptions for 409 yards and two more touchdowns during that time. To reach those numbers, Carson has averaged 4.5 yards per carry and 83.6 rushing yards per game.
For reference, that’s more rushing yards per game than Nick Chubb, Derrick Henry or Mark Ingram have averaged over those two years. Even this season, Carson is averaging more yards per game (on the same number of yards per carry) as Ezekiel Elliott. He’s also above Dalvin Cook in yards per game but was easily passed over.
Against Arizona’s 25th ranked run defense, Carson will run rampant. The Cardinals give up 122.7 rushing yards per game and runners average 4.5 yards per carry. The Seahawks rush for 141.7 per contest, and Carson is looking to throw a big game in the faces of those who passed over him in the Pro Bowl voting.
The Cardinals are not a dangerous team, but the Seahawks cannot afford a letdown game at this point in the season. Carson can grind up the clock while consistently getting results. Fans might see a lot of him on Sunday.
