Washington Redskins (3-12) at Dallas Cowboys (7-8)

Sunday, December 29, 4:25PM ET

This is a game the Cowboys should absolutely win. I’ve been pulling for the Washington Redskins to pull off an upset in recent weeks, but it hasn’t happened. That seems to be the likely outcome again in Week 17 against a Dallas team that outmatches them in nearly every category.

The Cowboys just boast too much offense for the Redskins to keep up. Dak Prescott should shred a D.C. secondary that has looked like Swiss cheese at times in 2019. If that doesn’t work, Ezekiel Elliott should be able to get things going on the ground. That shouldn’t be necessary, though, seeing as the Redskins were embarrassed by Daniel Jones a week ago.

Washington should make it a game worth watching, especially if the divisional crown potentially on the line. However, as this game wears on, we should see evidence of the away team’s shortcomings on the scoreboard. The Cowboys win, improving their season record to 8-8.

Unfortunately, it’s all for naught. My prediction of an Eagles’ victory over the Giants seals the NFC East championship, rendering Dallas’ win over the Redskins moot. Despite offering so much potential to start the season, the Cowboys fall short and face a tumultuous offseason that could see the end of Jason Garrett‘s reign.

Prediction: Cowboys win 29-16
