7. Edelman receives double-digit targets

To say that Julian Edelman is expected to see a heavy workload on offense for the New England Patriots when taking on the Tennessee Titans would be a huge understatement since the defending champions will be facing all sorts of pressure this weekend.

The Patriots were already under the microscope for struggling the way they have at times over the last few months on offense, but watching New England drop from the No. 2 seed to the No. 3 seed is another huge reason for concern.

No one needs to explain just how much the Patriots were in need of a first-round bye to provide some of their players extra rest before the Divisional Round, but unfortunately there’s nothing the team can do other than focus on defeating the Titans.

With the way Tennessee’s defense has looked at times throughout the 2019 season, New England has plenty of reasons to be concerned once again, but at least Edelman’s presence will help relieve some of the pressure.

Believe it or not, there were 10 occasions throughout the regular season in which Edelman received double-digit targets, and reaching 11 on Saturday shouldn’t be a problem at all for the reigning Super Bowl MVP when facing Tennessee.
