2020 NFL Playoff picks, score predictions for Divisional Round
Seattle Seahawks (5) at Green Bay Packers (2)
Sunday, January 12, 6:40PM ET
Despite their 13-3 finish and No. 2 seeding in the NFC, I’m not convinced the Green Bay Packers are worthy of a legitimate Super Bowl run. The rest of the football world may find that out sooner rather than later — possibly when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Honestly, I just can’t count out Russell Wilson at this point in the season. He’s been a star all year long, and continues to keep the Seahawks alive even when their luck seems all but out. D.K. Metcalf is coming into his own as well, and the presence of Marshawn Lynch in the backfield has to mean something. Plus, the Seattle defense has been solid down the stretch.
The only real concern I have is the Seahawks keeping the Green Bay pass rush at bay. As long as they can do that, Wilson should have enough playmaking magic left to get them the win. The Seattle defense should shut down Aaron Jones, and keep Aaron Rodgers from getting too hot — even at home.
All year long, the Seahawks have been excellent on the road. That trend will continue in the Divisional Round, when they go into Lambeau Field and knock the Packers out of the playoffs, securing their spot in the NFC Championship Game. That should give Rodgers more time to do his State Farm commercials.
Remember the last time these two teams met in the playoffs? Wilson will find a way again.
Prediction: Seahawks win 17-14
