NFL Power Rankings: Chiefs, 49ers advance to Super Bowl 54
By Dan Parzych
Last April, the Arizona Cardinals decided to take a major risk by moving on from former first-round pick Josh Rosen after only one season to pave the way for Kyler Murray being taken with the top overall pick.
Since there was no guarantee that Murray would become the kind of quarterback needed for the Cardinals to return to the level of being serious contenders again in the NFC, it only took one season to show this was a major upgrade for Arizona.
With all due respect to Rosen since the Miami Dolphins quarterback still has time to prove he can develop into a reliable NFL quarterback, Murray’s explosive style of play found ways to make an impact throughout his rookie campaign in 2019.
Even if Murray struggled in a few areas like most rookies tend to do, the early experience for the Oklahoma product should pay off in the long run for the Cardinals.
The offseason has been quiet for the most part in Arizona, but the team did receive good news last week after Larry Fitzgerald announced he would be back for the 2020 season.
This may not seem like the biggest deal in the world to some football fans, but the fact that Fitzgerald is coming off a 2019 season in which he caught 75 passes for 804 yards with five touchdowns shows the veteran can still play at a high level.
