Offensive Player of the Year: Chris Carson, RB

Predictably, the race for this award came down to Carson and Tyler Lockett. Wilson would walk away with this title, but he already claimed the team MVP, so he’s off the table. That left Carson, who holds a narrow lead over Lockett.

Lockett performed like a Pro Bowl wide receiver for around half of 2019. He posted five games with 100 receiving yards or more. During those contests, he accumulated 47 receptions, 662 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. That averages out to nine receptions, 132 yards and one touchdown per game.

However, Lockett failed to reach 55 receiving yards in nine games. Those mediocre performances dragged down his averages, especially during the second half of the season. Overall, Lockett finished 2019 with 82 receptions, 1,057 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns.

On the other hand, Carson started 2019 on the wrong foot. After the running back fumbled in each of his first three games, fans wondered if Pete Carroll would bench Carson in favor of Rashaad Penny. Carson proceeded to string together three consecutive 100-yard games, reviving his season.

In 2019, Carson posted six 100-yard games and ran for less than 55 yards on four occasions. He finished the season with 278 carries for 1,230 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. Carson increased his role in the passing game as well, catching 37 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns.
