2020 NFL Mock Draft, post-Combine: Raiders trade up, Redskins move back
TRADE ALERT: Bills send No. 22, 86, 137 to Cowboys for No. 17, 2021 fourth-round pick
If K’Lavon Chaisson got to the No. 18 pick and the Miami Dolphins, there’s no question that he would go off the board there. Though he didn’t test at the NFL Combine, the LSU product showed elite athleticism and explosiveness off the edge and has incredible potential at the next level.
To get that type of player on their roster, the Bills make an aggressive move up to trade with the Cowboys and take Chaisson. Buffalo needs to get more dangerous individually on the edge, especially with Lorenzo Alexander retiring. Chaisson can help immensely in that regard.
TRADE ALERT: Eagles send No. 21, 85, 2021 fifth-round pick to Dolphins for No. 18
With Chaisson off the board and having given up a lot to trade up to No. 2, the Dolphins capitalize on the Eagles’ need at cornerback by trading down to the No. 21 pick. After moving up, Philadelphia selects Kristian Fulton.
Everything you see on film from Fulton shows that he can be a true No. 1 cornerback in the NFL but the big question was his straight-line speed. He answered that at the Combine and, with that, the Eagles should have all of the faith in the world that he can be a cure to their secondary woes.
(via Bears) Justin Jefferson led college football in receptions this past season and is a refined route-runner with a big body. But no one expected him to run in the low 4.4s in the 40 — yet that’s exactly what he did, which makes him even more enticing. The Raiders need to add some juice to their offense if they’re going to take the next step and be a more dangerous passing threat. Jefferson’s productivity and now his clear athleticism and frame make him the right guy to help Las Vegas.
(via Rams) The shocking departure of Telvin Smith from the Jaguars prior to the 2019 season left the team sorely lacking at linebacker. This team is at their best, as they proved in 2017, when their defense is leading the charge. Patrick Queen is a player that can help change that. Though he missed drills and some of the testing due to a minor hamstring injury, the LSU linebacker is oozing with potential and physical gifts to be a longtime star at the position in the NFL.
