Pick Analysis. Trey Adams. 6. 818. Scouting Report. Offensive Tackle. Washington. player

Even with the addition of Becton to the Giants’ offensive tackle group, they still need extra help. With Trey  Adams, they are getting a prospect with clear talent but that may take some time to develop given an extensive injury history throughout his college career at Washington.

Adams, like Becton, is another giant human being. At the NFL Combine, Adams came in at 6-8, 318 pounds. Adams uses his length to his advantage on the outside and can jack some defenders up in the run game. He’s a powerful player who can do damage when he gets to the next level but he has one major red flag and that is the aforementioned injuries, which have robbed him of a lot of athleticism.

Over his college career, Adams dealt with an ACL tear in addition to back and neck injuries that caused him to miss a ton of time. However, if the Giants can keep him healthy, New York can add another solid young tackle to the mix.

Other Players Available: Joe Bachie, Lamar Jackson, AJ Dillon

Miami. Linebacker. Michael Pickney. 7. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 834

As with the other positions addressed already, the Giants also need help at linebacker. Their one bright spot at the position last season was David Mayo, though he was largely one-dimensional and struggle in coverage. But where Mayo struggles in that regard, Michael Pickney thrives in it.

While at Miami, Pickney was often assigned to shadow tight ends and running backs in the passing game and did so with great effectiveness, shockingly so given his overall lack of elite athleticism or explosiveness. However, his smooth hips and feet allow him to work well when dropping back.

Given the speed of modern-day tight ends, Pickney drops in the draft. However, his football IQ and technique make him a worthwhile addition in Round 7.

Other Players Available: Scott Frantz, Kendall Coleman, Jonathon Garvin

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. Kindle Vildor. player. Georgia Southern. 7. 31

Near the end of the NFL Draft, teams are throwing darts blindfolded. It’s all about taking fliers at high-value positions and seeing if any of their throws hit the board, which is what the Giants do with Kindle Vildor.

Vildor was great in 2018, even matching up well against Clemson but 2019 derailed his stock quite a bit. His production took a big step back and his film didn’t look like you were watching the same player either. No matter what, he’s clearly a high-IQ player, though he lacks the overall speed and athleticism to be drafted higher than this.

The Georgia Southern product won’t be an immediate contributor but, with some development — perhaps on the practice squad — early on, he could turn into a decent cornerback down the line.

Other Players Available: Reggie Robinson, Aaron Parker, Kendrick Rogers
