1. Washington Redskins or Detroit Lions

Okay, maybe this is cheating a bit, but I want to make it clear. It is all but certain that one of these teams will trade back come draft day. Despite recent reports, I highly doubt the Cincinnati Bengals will trade out of their No. 1 overall pick; the Bengals will want to be safe with their pick and take the consensus No. 1 prospect, Joe Burrow, despite the alluring nature of acquiring multiple draft choices.

With Joe Burrow gone and Tua Tagovailoa next up on the docket, it will be a race between the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, and other potential suitors to grab the quarterback out of Alabama. All of the franchises attempting to acquire Tagovailoa’s services will be aggressive and try to grab him before someone jumps them in the pecking order, so the prime spot to grab the quarterback will be at No. 2 or No. 3 overall.

While the Washington Redskins appear to be the prime trade partner, they may not trade back. With long-time defensive guru Ron Rivera taking over as head coach, Washington may elect to grab a generational pass rusher like Chase Young; Rivera may even surprise everyone and push for Tagovailoa, as Dwayne Haskins was not his choice.

If the Redskins stand pat, the Detroit Lions will assuredly trade down; quarterback-needy teams will trade up for Justin Herbert, as he remains the last quarterback worth a high pick. Right now, I believe it is more likely Washington selects Young and Detroit trades down, but it could go either way. Nonetheless, it is extremely likely one of these teams trades down.
