1. Tennessee Titans

The odds-on favorite to sign Jadeveon Clowney at this point has to be the Tennessee Titans. For quite some time, it seemed as if it was going to come down to just the Titans and the Seahawks and whichever team Clowney preferred. But now that Seattle is seemingly out of the running, it might seem like to some that the star pass-rusher heading to Nashville is a foregone conclusion.

It’s not hard to reason on any level why Clowney would fit with the Titans. Of course, Tennessee has the money and they have the need as Harold Landry is the only consistent edge rusher that has made an impact on the roster — unless you count new addition Vic Beasley Jr. Beyond that, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel spent time on the Texans staff with Clowney, giving the two parties some valuable familiarity.

Perhaps the most telling aspect of the Titan’s pursuit of Clowney is the Jurrell Casey trade. Though the defensive tackle is aging a bit, he’s still been a driving force for this defense. So much so that there’s almost no chance that Tennessee general manager Jon Robinson would give him away for only a seventh-round pick if there wasn’t a viable shot that he was landing Clowney in free agency and needed to free up more money.

For me, the fact that the Titans still haven’t yet had Clowney put pen to paper means that it’s not a done deal and that other teams — the other four listed in particular — could have a chance at landing him still. But if you’re a betting man, it’s looking more and more like Jadeveon Clowney will be lining up in Tennessee for 2020 and perhaps beyond.
