Pick Analysis. Alabama. player. 58. Scouting Report. QB. Tua Tagovailoa. 2

We have the first shocker here at pick No. 2 in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft. The Washington Redskins spent the No. 15 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on Dwayne Haskins which is why the majority of mock drafts have them taking Ohio State defensive end Chase Young.

That thought process makes a lot of sense. Last season, Haskins looked primed to be a top-10 pick, so they got him at a bargain. On top of that, he was showing improvement late in the season — and the team knew he needed time to develop after starting just one season in Columbus.

However, the Redskins now have a new coach and general manager. And they’re also reportedly looking at Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa with the draft approaching. With them vetting the southpaw quarterback, could there be a chance that Ron Rivera and the Redskins change course after just one season?

It wouldn’t be unprecedented as something similar happened last season with the Arizona Cardinals. Just one season after trading up to take Josh Rosen at No. 10 overall, the Cardinals decided to take Kyler Murray with the No. 1 pick. That came at the request of head coach Kliff Kingsbury who wanted his guy, and Rivera could do the same.

Washington has a tough decision to make and perhaps someone makes a strong enough trade offer for them to drop down. However, Tua is a leader and it would be hard to pass on him should they keep the second pick.
