Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. CeeDee Lamb. 31. Oklahoma. 4. player

There are those who are starting to put Henry Ruggs as the No. 1 wide receiver and it’s really tempting to continue to do so here. He’s fast, he’s got great hands, and he’s able to make yards after the catch. All of that is great, but he’s not the only wideout who can do all that.

In fact, this class is full of really talented receivers which is why a lot of teams in need of someone at that position might wait until later in the draft to try and get a bargain. However, the New York Giants have shown under Dave Gettleman that they don’t care about where a person is supposed to be drafted. They also don’t care who anyone thinks is No. 1 at a given position.

Instead, they target the guy they want and they go get him. Looking at their roster, there are a few holes but none are bigger than at wide receiver and while No. 4 might be too high to some for a pass-catcher in this draft, Gettleman pulls the trigger and gets Daniel Jones a No. 1 target in CeeDee Lamb.

The Oklahoma product can do all the things Ruggs can do and even though he didn’t set the world on fire with his 40-yard dash time, Lamb was able to record 1,327 yards on 62 receptions last season which was good for an average of 21.4 yards per reception.

He’s more than just a deep threat though as he has great hands, runs clean routes, and has never shied away from tough competition. If they want Jones to succeed, he needs weapons and this is a great one to have.
