5. Atlanta Falcons new uniforms

There was really nothing about this reveal that went right. Originally, they were going to release their new looks on April 14 and fans were pretty excited about this. Their old uniforms weren’t exactly terrible but they weren’t overly exciting either. They also felt a little too early-2000s where teams were trying too hard for the modern look.

The problem is, they ended up having to release them nearly a week early after they were leaked on Twitter. Fans who saw these leaks weren’t thrilled with the product and got a sad dose of reality when they saw they were, in fact, legit.

Atlanta released a rather bland home and away jersey which had some ugly block lettering which most teams have already realized is a bad idea. On top of that, the “ATL” across the front screams XFL as do the two-toned stripes down the side of the all-black jerseys.

Still, those two are at least passable. Not great, but passable. The problem is, they also released a hideous red gradient that fades to black. That jersey is easily the worst look in the entire NFL and John Buhler of FanSided.com didn’t hold back when attacking the look.

"As for the red gradient jersey defensive tackle Grady Jarrett has on (No. 97), those should never see the light of day. It is some Jacksonville Jaguars’ two-toned Arena League B.S. This is the wrong kind of Fade to Black, the type Metallica would never approve of. Just because Grady sound enough like gradient doesn’t give the Falcons the right to subject their employee to this hardship."

Of course, the one saving grace is the throwback jersey they now have — which is worn by Calvin Ridley (No. 18) in the tweet. This 1990s jersey is the best one this franchise has ever worn and they would have scored major points by making this their full-time jersey.

Instead, they became the laughingstock of the league and there’s no doubt they will be making a change as soon as league rules allow them to.
