5 NFL teams that should change to new uniforms next in 2020

4. Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals have one of the longest-tenured franchises in the NFL, even if it doesn’t feel like it. They started playing in the NFL way back in 1920 as the Chicago Cardinals. They ended up in St. Louis in 1960 and played there all the way through 1987 before moving to the Phoenix area. Eventually, they changed their name from the Phoenix Cardinals to the Arizona Cardinals, which they have now been known as since 1994.
Throughout all that time, their uniforms were pretty similar to what they have always work. They maintained a simple red and white color scheme with a small cardinal on the helmet since the 1960s. They added small things such as the Arizona state flag on the sleeve but nothing major. That is until 2005 when they overhauled their image.
This change came as they were preparing to move into their new stadium and wanted a new image and like many of the teams that made a change at this time, they went overboard with the stripes. Arizona’s logo change was fine as they made the cardinal a little more menacing and they stuck with the red and white. However, they added an overly thick stripe down the side and on their white jerseys, the stripe goes down the armpit, which is odd.
There’s too much going on and they need to put this one in the rearview and start to look like a team with a rich history again. Not like one that entered the league in the late 1990s and is struggling to find an identity still.
