CB. Jeffrey Okudah. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Ohio State. 3. player. 50

After Young went off the board at No. 2, we arrive at another spot where many people have projected a trade. In fact, the latest buzz entering the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft is that the Miami Dolphins might be interested in trading up to the No. 3 pick with the Detroit Lions in the interest of drafting an offensive tackle. But for me, Detroit is standing pat at this point.

Matt Patricia’s club traded cornerback Darius Slay this offseason and, though they added some reinforcements, I don’t believe they won’t address the long-term issues at the position. That’s why Jeffrey Okudah is the no-brainer pick. If you’re looking for NFL cornerback traits on the highest end, Okudah checks every box and should be a shutdown player as soon as he puts on his helmet in the Motor City.

Alabama. Jedrick Wills Jr.. player. 31. Pick Analysis. OT. Scouting Report. 4

What the New York Giants do with the No. 4 overall pick could very well be the biggest turning point in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. They could take linebacker Isaiah Simmons to get a defensive playmaker, they could trade out of the pick or they could invest in the offensive tackle of their choosing to help protect Daniel Jones and clear the road for Saquon Barkley.

For me, all of the posturing that general manager Dave Gettleman has been doing this offseason is just noise. Their investment in Jones and Barkley means that’s what they must protect, which is exactly what Jedrick Wills Jr. can do. His tape his near pristine with his combination of power and mobility, which should allow him to play right or left tackle at a high level in the NFL right away.
