Seattle Seahawks schedule 2020: Picks, predictions for every game
By Samuel Teets
Week 1: Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons
Seattle opens the 2020 regular season against a deceptive Atlanta team that put up a fight against the Seahawks in Week 8 last year. Dan Quinn’s team is far from ready to compete for a Super Bowl, but the Falcons always find a way to win seven to nine games each year. This game isn’t a gimme for Seattle, but the Seahawks should put away Matt Ryan and Julio Jones in Week 1.
Prediction: Win
More from NFL Spin Zone
- Dallas Cowboys made the trade everyone else should have made
- Pittsburgh Steelers rookie sleeper everyone should be talking about
- Anthony Richardson putting jaw-dropping talent on display immediately
- Denver Broncos’ stud wide receiver might be out for a while
- Washington Commanders: Three takeaways from win over Ravens
Week 2: New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks
While a battle between the Seahawks and Patriots would be worthy of a primetime spot in past seasons, the loss of Tom Brady could force New England into a short-term rebuild. Instead, Russell Wilson faces off against Jarrett Stidham in Week 2. Even with Bill Belichick on the other sideline, the difference in quarterback play should lead Seattle to an easy victory in their home opener.
Prediction: Win
Week 3: Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks
Assuming Dak Prescott signs his franchise tender and reports to Dallas’ training camp, the Cowboys have a slight advantage in their matchup against the Seahawks. Even without Travis Frederick, Dallas’ offensive line can easily dispatch Seattle’s pass rush. Also, Seattle’s secondary seems ill-equipped to handle the trio of wide receivers assembled by Dallas over the past two seasons.
This matchup is winnable, but the Cowboys could force Seattle into a shootout, which favors the team with more offensive weapons.
Prediction: Loss
Week 4: Seattle Seahawks at Miami Dolphins
Even if Tua Tagovailoa is one of the next great quarterbacks, the Dolphins are a year away from competing with ten-win teams. Miami made some significant additions on both sides of the ball this offseason, but I don’t think they drafted particularly well. The Dolphins are a few pieces away from threatening teams like the Seahawks.
Between Seattle’s edge in experience and the current pandemic not allowing Miami’s new players to get acclimated with their coaches, the Seahawks should cruise to victory.
Prediction: Win
