And when seeing how the South Carolina State product managed to earn Pro Bowl honors in just his second season in the league, it’s safe to say that Indianapolis did their homework on Leonard during the draft in 2018.
Of course, when looking at all of the potential surrounding Leonard based off the previous two seasons, the chances of Indianapolis willing to give him up in a trade seems like a long shot, which is also part of the reason this should be viewed as a dream target for Minnesota.
If the 12 sacks and 284 combined tackles in 28 games from the last seasons are any indication of what the future has in store for Leonard, there’s no question that he will be in great position to get better with experience.
Obviously, it would take a lot for the Vikings to land someone like Leonard from the Colts, although giving up a high draft pick would certainly seem worth it for Minnesota.
When seeing how tough the NFC North is expected to be once again during the 2020 season, the Vikings’ defense could end up being the main difference-maker, whether Leonard somehow comes on board or not.
