Carolina Panthers: 3 Dream trade targets from Eagles before 2020 training camp
By Dan Parzych
1. Sidney Jones
Back in 2017, Sidney Jones was considered one of the top cornerbacks entered the draft and appeared to be a lock to go in the first round before an unfortunate injury leading up to the event resulted in his stock taking a bit of a hit.
Then again, at least the Eagles benefitted from Jones falling to the second round since he was arguably a first-round talent, although the verdict is still out over whether he has what it takes to be a top defender Philadelphia needs.
Unfortunately, Jones has struggled to stay healthy over the last couple of years with only 22 games (eight starts) to his name and there has been talk over whether the Eagles would be better off without him competing for the No. 2 job.
At the moment, Jones appears to be one of the favorites to land the starting role alongside Darius Slay at cornerback, but plenty could change from now until the start of training camp.
If the Eagles all of a sudden realize that Jones isn’t the answer they were hoping for on defense, a trade could very well happen for the former Washington start, whether it happens to be with the Panthers or someone else.
