Linebackers (6): Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano, A.J. Klein, Corey Thompson, Tyler Matakevich, Vosean Joseph

The linebacker group is pretty set. Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano are the two field generals in the middle of the defense and will look to become one of the best linebacker tandems in the NFL with another season of cohesion under their belts. The two linebackers combined for 216 tackles and 21 tackles for loss last season.

Former Saint A.J. Klein will likely split time with Corey Thomspon for the strong-side linebacker role while also partaking in special team duties. Matakevich and Joseph fill out the rest of this unit mainly because this is the shallowest group on the Buffalo defense.

The Bills are banking a lot on the belief that Milano and Edmunds can stay healthy for a full season given their lack of additions to this group during the offseason. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Buffalo go after a veteran like Clay Matthews or Mark Barron between now and training camp to fill out the remainder of this core.

Nonetheless, the Bills bring six linebackers onto the roster in the hopes that the fringe players can step up if necessary.
