NFL Power Rankings: Chiefs, Ravens remain hot as facilities begin to reopen

Adam Gase gets a lot of heat for the way he comes across and it’s easy to see why — and that’s not just because of his weird press conference where he couldn’t keep his eyes inside his own head. Gase has also come across as a bit rough around the edges and there were several rumors of players not liking him while he was with Miami.
The way things ended with the Dolphins made it a bit of a surprise to see him latch on with the Jets so quickly. That feeling was magnified when he feuded with his general manager, then said there was no feud, only to see the GM fired. He then reportedly took issue with the signing of Le’Veon Bell and it all felt like Miami all over again.
But by the season’s end, it seemed as though Gase had some stuff going his way. The Jets were just 1-7 in the first half of the season but then went 6-2 in the second half. They were also 7-6 with Sam Darnold under center, meaning Gase could win when he had his starter.
Of course, Gase’s doubters could point to the teams they defeated in those games. The Jets beat the Giants, Redskins, Raiders, Dolphins, and Steelers down the stretch. Their only other win came in Week 5 over Dallas, meaning they had zero wins over winning teams until Week 17 when they beat the Buffalo Bills who were resting their starters.
