An article written by Danny Abriano for Yahoo! Sports details the legal situation cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who the Seahawks traded a fifth-round pick for in March, finds himself in after being “charged with four counts of armed robbery and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.” The alleged armed robbery occurred back in May, but Dunbar and Deandre Baker, who face the same charges, are pleading not guilty.

Depending on how Dunbar’s case goes, the former Washington Redskins could face a suspension from the NFL. It doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen, since witnesses are claiming Dunbar didn’t steal anything, according to a story by Bob Condotta.

Either way, the Seahawks could use some extra help in their secondary. With Marquise Blair already waiting in the wings, I decided to focus on cornerback depth rather than throw another safety into the mix. Of the available corners, Tramon Williams could offer great short-term value on an affordable deal.

Williams is already 37 years old, but that hasn’t slowed him down. In an article by Pro Football Focus’ Solomon Wilcots (subscription required), Williams ranked sixth among the best cornerbacks through Week 17. He appeared in all 16 games for the Green Bay Packers last season, making seven starts and intercepting two passes. Williams played 73 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.

Even at his age, Williams can play outside or in the slot. He could bring a needed level of versatility and experience to Seattle’s young cornerback corps. However, it could take a lot to lure Williams away from a chance to play in Green Bay again.

Other plausible but risky veteran corners on the market include Darqueze Dennard and Aqib Talib.
