10. Khalil Mack, OLB, Chicago Bears

The Bears and Khalil Mack ran into a wall this past season. After posting four consecutive seasons with at least ten sacks and 18 quarterback hits, Mack only recorded 8.5 sacks and 14 quarterback hits in 2019. It’s the worst performance of his career since his rookie season. Chicago also failed to recapture their magic from 2018 and finished with an 8-8 record.

Mack and the defense could drag Chicago’s offense kicking and screaming to the playoffs in 2020. However, the team’s defense could struggle to overcome the offense’s ineptitude. Mack also needs to shake off a forgettable season and get back into All-Pro form.

The 2016 Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time First-Team All-Pro, Mack is one of the best defenders in the NFL. However, his teams have a combined record of 48-48 with no playoff wins. In his two postseason appearances, Mack doesn’t have a sack.

9. Jason Witten, TE, Las Vegas Raiders

After 15 seasons, Jason Witten retired and tried to follow in the footsteps of his former quarterback, Tony Romo. Unfortunately, Witten flopped in the broadcast booth and decided to return to football this past year. Despite missing a season, he almost matched his 2017 totals perfectly. Witten signed a one-year deal with the Raiders earlier this offseason.

Witten’s 1,215 receptions rank fourth all-time and only trail Tony Gonzalez’s 1,325 for the most receptions by a tight end. Witten’s 12,977 receiving yards also rank second among all tight ends. However, the long-time Cowboy trails several tight ends in career touchdowns.

During his long run with the Cowboys, Witten went to the playoffs six times. However, Dallas went 2-6 in those matchups. Witten averaged 5.6 receptions and 60.8 receiving yards per game. If Witten retires following the 2020 season, he’ll leave the game without a Super Bowl. In the loaded AFC West, the Raiders sit at the bottom of the food chain.
