Packers early bold prediction No. 5: Aaron Rodgers throws for under 3,800 yards

The Green Bay Packers offense is no longer the high-flying passing attack we became accustomed to in the early 2010s. During the Mike McCarthy era, the Packers were known for splitting out four or five wide receivers and going empty in the backfield. This is far from the case today.

The Packers are clearly transitioning to a more balanced approach and may even want to be a run-first offense. The team invested a second-round pick in running back A.J. Dillon in the 2020 NFL Draft, along with having two capable runners in Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams already on the roster.

Head coach Matt LaFleur has frequently stated that he values multiple running backs and would like the passing game to build off the running game. Because of that, we could very likely see a dip in Aaron Rodgers‘ production.

Last year, Rodgers barely eclipsed the 4,000-yard mark, finishing with 4,002 passing yards during the regular season. He also threw 26 touchdowns and two interceptions. Because the Packers want to transition to a heavier rushing attack, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Rodgers throw for less than 3,800 yards. The lowest mark for Rodgers’ career in which he played all 16 games was in 2015 when he finished with 3,821 passing yards.
