5. Deion Jones and Todd Gurley

Madden 21 rating: 86

Two players tied for the fifth spot on the Falcons as far as player ratings awarded by Madden 21 leading into the start of the new season.

Although Atlanta linebacker Deion Jones and newly-signed running back Todd Gurley both come in with an overall rating of 86, Jones slightly edges Gurley based off of some of the attribute ratings within his profile.

Jones, who will enter his fifth season in the NFL and with the Falcons in 2020, received attribute ratings of 91 in speed, 92 in acceleration, 73 in strength, 88 in agility, 84 in awareness, 70 in catching ability, 85 in tackling, 85 in jumping ability, 87 in injury, 85 in stamina and 78 in toughness, to list just a few.

During the 2019 campaign, Jones appeared in all 16 regular-season games for Atlanta, finishing the year with 110 combined tackles, eight tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, one fumble recovery, one interception and one defensive touchdown. Jones, who will turn 26 years old in November, earned his lone Pro Bowl selection during the 2017 season with the Falcons.

Gurley, who will be coming into his sixth season in the league and first with Atlanta, earned attribute ratings of 90 in speed, 91 in acceleration, 75 in strength, 93 in agility, 87 in awareness, 65 in catching ability, 89 in carrying ability, 86 in breaking tackles, 89 in jumping ability, 85 in injury, 93 in stamina and 88 in toughness.

In 2019, the three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro running back finished the year making 15 appearances with the Los Angeles Rams. During that stretch, Gurley tallied 223 carries for 857 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground, adding 31 catches for 207 yards and two touchdowns through the air.
