1. The Kansas City Chiefs don’t need the NFL preseason

The reigning Super Bowl Champions could go without touching the football from February to September 10th kickoff and still fire on all cylinders. We’ve already seen this team start out slow for a quarter, trailing the Houston Texans 20-0 at the end of the first quarter in the Divisional Round, only to go on a scoring spree and win the game by double-digits.

As long as Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid stay in Kansas City, the Chiefs will continually be contenders.

The team has a few new additions this offseason, most notably first-round running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and offensive tackle Mike Remmers; yet, it is likely both players will serve more of a depth role to begin the season. The starting offensive linemen, the pass-catchers and the $500 million dollar man under center will all be back for another season, so it is doubtful there will be any chemistry issues.

The defense, who came alive during the back half of the 2019 season, has stayed mostly intact with Chris Jones returning on the franchise tag and Bashaud Breeland coming back on a one-year deal.

Another year in the system for Frank Clark and Tyrann Mathieu should allow these players to excel despite a lack of practice. While their division rivals have to deal with massive turnover on the offensive side of the ball, the Kansas City Chiefs are secure in the fact that they can continue to ride Patrick Mahomes to another title in 2020.
