3. Cedrick Wilson survives a scare, keeps rolling

So far in camp, Cedrick Wilson has been a stud for the Dallas Cowboys. A sixth-round pick in 2018, Wilson was an intriguing prospect as a rookie following a strong finish to his collegiate career at Boise State but he missed his first NFL season after tearing his labrum.

He battled injuries again in his second season and after recording five receptions for 46 yards in six games, he finished his sophomore campaign on the IR.

Even before making it into the NFL, Wilson has overcome adversity. He’s the son of a former NFL wide receiver but still was unable to attend a big university out of high school. That led him to attend Coffeyville Community College before heading to Boise State for his final two seasons.

Now, he heads into his third year in the NFL and is hoping to turn a corner. And so far in camp, he’s done exactly that. Wilson has been separating himself from the pack and is the clear-cut favorite to be the fourth receiver in Dallas.

On Monday, he had another outstanding day but also survived a brief scare. According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, Wilson rolled his ankle and had to head to the sideline. He was able to shake it off and came back to score a deep touchdown against Daryl Worley.

As pointed out by Jon Machota of The Athletic, this was actually the second time Wilson found the end zone in this practice as he also hauled in a slant from Dak Prescott for a 35-yard touchdown earlier in the day.

At this point, it would be a shock to see anyone other than Wilson as the Cowboys fourth wideout.
