Stud: A good start, but not good enough

For the second straight week, Atlanta started the game off with a dominant showing that resulted in it getting out to a large lead and stretching the game assumingly out of reach going into halftime.

Unfortunately for the Falcons, those nice starts have been followed by the defense completely collapsing and blowing those early leads the offense obtains.

It’s really positive to see the Atlanta offense continue to be one of the more potent units in the NFL, which has been the case in three straight games to start the year. Unfortunately, that hasn’t really mattered or resulted in wins so far in the 2020 campaign.

Dud: Fall to a winless 0-3 on the year

The biggest negative that came out of the game on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta, outside of another total collapse to fall in a contest, was the fact that the Falcons fell once again to remain without a win going into Week 4 of the regular season.

Along with that, Atlanta also dropped to a winless 0-2 on its home field of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which is obviously another negative to take away from the Week 3 defeat.

With the record of 0-3, the Falcons move to the bottom of the NFC South and the NFL standings as a whole, and they have a tough road ahead of them in the next few weeks of the regular season.

Atlanta turns around and will travel to face the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football in Week 4, while hosting the Carolina Panthers in Week 5 and travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings in Week 6. The Falcons have their work cut out for them and things appear to be getting out of control very quickly in Atlanta.
