team. 51. . . Previous: 9th. Los Angeles Rams. 8

After moving on from Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks in the offseason, it seemed as though the Los Angeles Rams would be trending in the wrong direction this year. That take wasn’t crazy considering they were 9-7 in 2019 and missed the playoffs — after struggling down the stretch — and then let two of their better players go. However, they have come out of the gates looking as strong as ever.

On Sunday, they weren’t at their best as they put up just 17 points while gaining only 58 yards on the ground, but they did enough to get the win over the Giants. And what was most impressive was how they won — with defense.

Los Angeles made life miserable for Daniel Jones who had just 190 yards passing and was sacked five times. Jones also failed to throw a touchdown and had a pick which came courtesy of defensive back Darious Williams.

For head coach Sean McVay, it’s a great sign as we know he will always be able to drum up some offense when needed. His Achilles heel so far in his career has been defense and this was the third time in three games they have held someone under 20 points.
