The Colts made the decision to bring Philip Rivers in on a one-year deal this past offseason and he’s honestly the weakest link on their team through the first five games of the season. Even still, he’s an experienced quarterback and could be a nice mentor for Haskins if he were to end up in Indianapolis.

Indy also has Jacoby Brissett, but they could decide to trade him if Haskins were brought in. Haskins could provide the Colts with a young quarterback to roll with for at least the next two years and if he didn’t work out, they could draft someone new when that time came.

The Colts have one of the best defenses in the league, so Haskins wouldn’t have all of the pressure on his shoulders. With the need at quarterback, especially after this season, and being a Super Bowl contending team, trading for Haskins could make a ton of sense for the Colts.

Also, with the Colts playing in the AFC, Washington wouldn’t have any problems trading him to Indianapolis because they would only have to face him in the regular season every four years.
