Stud: First-half performance

From the opening kick off, Atlanta put together a strong performance on both sides of the ball to take Minnesota out of the game early while building a large lead in the opening half of the contest. To open up the game, the Falcons set the tone defensively with an interception that was the first of three in the first two quarters while going up against Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.

On the other side of the ball, the Atlanta offense was able to take care of business while jumping out to a 20-0 advantage going into halftime. The Falcons overpowered the Vikings for most of the game in Week 6, but the first-half performance was impressive both on offense and defense for Atlanta.

Dud: Fumbles

The first dud from the dominant showing for Atlanta this weekend was the fact that the team did commit a few fumbles throughout the course of the game.

The Falcons managed to fumble the ball twice in the game, losing one fumble to the Vikings defense. The first fumble came from running back Brian Hill, which was recovered by Minnesota. The second fumble was out of Brandon Powell, which ended up being recovered by the Falcons.

Atlanta needs to worry about not turning the ball over throughout the course of any given game, but that didn’t ultimately impact the outcome of the contest in Minnesota in Week 6.
