Stud: Forcing turnovers

One thing that New England did do well was holding the Denver offense in check for the most part while also forcing some turnovers on that side of the line of scrimmage. In the loss on Sunday afternoon, the Patriots managed to force the Broncos into a total of two turnovers, also forcing one fumble along the way.

Denver quarterback Drew Lock was forced into committing two interceptions under center in his return from an injury suffered in September. The Patriots also forced lock to fumble the ball, although it was recovered by the Broncos.

New England’s defense continues to be a bright spot early on in the 2020 campaign, but the offense wasn’t able to do enough to help out the defense in Week 6.

Dud: Falling at home for the first time in 2020

To open up the regular season home slate, New England entered Week 6 on Sunday at a perfect 2-0 at home. The Patriots opened the year taking down the Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders on their home field of Gillette Stadium in Foxborough and had the hopes of once again doing so on Sunday against Denver.

The Broncos, however, handed the Patriots their first loss at home of the 2020 season while dropping New England to 2-1 at home and 2-3 overall going into Week 7. New England is still a tough team to play, especially at home, but Denver had the Patriots’ number on Sunday afternoon to steal a win on the road against Bill Belichick and company.
