It’s hard to find any team that’s been a bigger disappointment this season than the Dallas Cowboys have been. They had big aspirations this year after hiring Mike McCarthy and making a few free agency moves such as signing Everson Griffen and Dontari Poe. Then there was their draft which saw them add CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs.

Fast forward to Week 7 and there’s been nothing that’s gone right. Dak Prescott has been lost for the season with a broken ankle but even when he was there, they were a losing team that relied 100 percent on him making magical plays to keep them from imploding.

And with him gone, that’s exactly what’s happening. Dallas had rumblings coming from the locker room that players have tapped out on the coaching staff and while McCarthy can get upset about it, the fact is, it’s never a good sign when any players give up on the staff. And on Sunday, it looked as though the entire team had given up.

McCarthy managed to do in less than half a season what Jason Garrett couldn’t in 10 years — he completely lost the team. Team owner Jerry Jones has always shown patience with his coaches — maybe too much — but it will be interesting to see if that remains the case here.
