Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 5 Bold predictions for Week 8 vs. Giants
2. Ronald Jones will struggle again
Ronald Jones entered the Raiders game on a three-game one hundred yard rushing streak. He only ended up 34 yards last week despite having 13 carries. The Giants are solid against the run, but the biggest thing that might hold Jones back will probably Leonard Fournette.
Jones had his best games when Fournette was out injured, and this may partially be due to the lack of time to get into a rhythm during the game. Combining both factors is not good for Jones.
1. Ryan Succop will be depended on for points
Ryan Succop has had a good start to his Tampa Bay Buccaneers career, but he has yet to be counted on for game-changing or winning field goals. This week will be different. The Giants have been allowing opponents to score touchdowns in the red zone only 53.3 percent of the time.
If the Buccaneers cannot score touchdowns, they will be depending on Succop for field goals. If this is the case, the team will not be able to blow out the Giants and every field goal attempt will have an added weight.
Succop has been good at 84.6 percent of his attempts at this point in the season. He has been at his best at attempts of less than 40 yards and he shouldn’t have to take anything too deep in this game. Expect the Buccaneers to be solid between the 20s and then call upon Succop for field goals in the 30-yard range.
