2020 NFL Power Rankings, Week 10: Bucs crash and burn, Bills turn heads
By Randy Gurzi
The Cincinnati Bengals were one of the teams who were fortunate enough to land a Week 9 bye. This break comes right at the midway point which is perfect for a team as they can truly split their season into two halves. For the Bengals, they know that their second half of the year will be all about continuing to grow their young talent.
At 2-5-1, there’s very little chance they will turn things around enough to become a playoff-hopeful but even so, there’s a lot for them to proud of. They have seen incredible maturation from rookie Joe Burrow, who already looks the part of a franchise quarterback. The No. 1 overall pick has completed 67 percent of his passes for 2,272 yards with an 11-to-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
He’s been good enough to keep them in just about every game and they knocked off the Titans right before their break. What’s even more encouraging is that Burrow isn’t the only young talent blossoming as Tee Higgins is turning a corner as well. The rookie wideout has 488 yards on 33 receptions with three touchdowns and has put up three consecutive games with at least 70-yards and has had at least 60 in the past five.
Cincinnati has some of the right pieces but they need to be able to put it all together. That falls on the coaching staff, which the jury is still out on.
