44. Best NFL Player Born in Utah – Steve Young

I’ve always believed that the best thing to do for any quarterback to do is to truly learn the game from the sidelines your first few years in the NFL until you’re ready to take over. Such was the case with Utah’s very own quarterback Steve Young that learned tremendously under Joe Montana and carved an incredible legacy of his own.

Montana and Young were both incredible yet very different quarterbacks. Young revolutionized the position since he was so incredibly accurate and was a true threat on the ground. He truly made a name for himself when it mattered most in the postseason

Young has the most rushing yards ever by a quarterback in the NFL playoffs at 594. He also owns the record for most rushing touchdowns ever by a quarterback at 8 in the postseason. To this day, Young actually holds the NFL record of most rushing touchdowns ever by a quarterback at 43 and has ran for 4,239 yards in his career.

Career Accomplishments

  • Member of both the College and Pro Football Hall of Fame
  • Ranks fifth all-time in career passer rating at 96.8
  • Holds the NFL record for most touchdown passes in a Super Bowl at 6
