Pleasant NFL Surprise No. 1: Miami Dolphins

No one is shocked to see the Miami Dolphins top the list. Flashback to last season when the Dolphins looked absolutely dreadful in their first two games and it seemed all too apparent that they were tanking.

By season’s end, the Dolphins were shocking the defending champion Patriots in Foxboro to close out the season. That’s the Dolphins team we’re looking at now and even with the transition to rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Miami continues to roll.

While this might not be the year the Dolphins win the AFC East, they look to be strong contenders for one of the three Wild Card spots. Special teams has been a big part of Miami’s success to this point, but they’re really playing well in all three facets of the game.

Brian Flores deserves a lot of props for how quickly he’s turned this team around. With Tagovailoa as their quarterback now, the Dolphins could be a very good team for a long time.
