Minnesota Vikings: 3 Bold predictions in Week 11 vs. Cowboys
2. Minnesota’s run game will set the tone
Another thing that will take place on Sunday evening in Minneapolis is that the Vikings run game will set the tone of the contest and will be hard for the Cowboys to stop throughout the span of four quarters.
Coming into the game, Dallas’ defense has featured one of the worst run defenses in the entire NFL, which will play heavily into Minnesota’s favor.
The Cowboys enter the contest having given up a total of 1,413 yards on the ground, which ranks second-most in the league behind only the Houston Texans (1,507). Dallas has also allowed opposing offenses to run 285 times (third-most in NFL) with an average of five yards per carry (tied for second-most) while finding the end zone 11 times via the ground game (tied for sixth-most).
When it comes to Minnesota, it has dedicated its offense to the running attack once again in 2020, emerging as one of the top teams on the ground entering Week 11.
The Vikings have tallied 1,382 rushing yards (fifth-most in NFL) on 268 rush attempts (ninth-most). Minnesota is also averaging 5.2 yards per carry (second-best in NFL) with 13 touchdowns on the ground (third-most in NFL).
Led by Dalvin Cook, who has been one of the top running backs in the entire league through 10 weeks and should be in MVP conversations at this point in the season, the Vikings will have success yet again on the ground on Sunday evening against Dallas.
