It feels like a weekly tradition that a phenomenal individual performance gets a player and his team put up on a pedestal only for both parties to come back to earth in their next game. So was the case for Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals as they played on Thursday Night Football.

After Murray completed the remarkable Hail Mary to beat the Bills in Week 10, the MVP chatter started and everyone was propping him up as the next superstar. And the quarterback may well be that but the Cardinals and the second-year quarterback proved to be imperfect and still growing as they matched up with the Seahawks.

Murray undoubtedly had a fine game but it wasn’t dominant by any stretch. Seattle shut down his ability to run on Thursday night and forced him to beat them with his arm. He tried his mightiest but it wasn’t enough.

Based on what we’ve seen, Arizona does feel as if they’re heading to the playoff this year as they stand at 6-4 on the year. However, this week’s loss proved that they may also be headed for an early postseason exit as the Cardinals might simply be a year away from actually contending.
