FanDuel NFL Thanksgiving Slate Picks and Advice: Running Back

Running back and wide receiver will be where you differentiate yourself as there are many more playable options than quarterback, tight end and D/ST. Ezekiel Elliot ($8,500) is in a tier of his own this week and showed signs of life last week with Dalton under center. With the nature of this slate, you can get him in your lineup without a problem, though I do think there are better values at the position for their price tag.

If D’Andre Swift ($7,200) is healthy, he and Antonio Gibson ($6,800) are the two biggest running back locks on the slate. Gus Edwards at $5,200 is not a phenomenal play but a likely 20+ touches at that cheap of a price point is hard to ignore.

The two hardest to figure out running backs on this slate are James Conner ($6,700) and Duke Johnson ($6,100).

Conner has been a solid RB1 before, but is clearly trending down and has a tough matchup with Baltimore. Johnson, on the other hand, has been terrible as the starter, only totaling 110 rushing yards on 40 carries in three games. I am willing to play him at only $6,100, as he gets a matchup with the worst run defense in football, though you have to be ready for a bust.

FanDuel NFL Thanksgiving Slate Picks and Advice: Wide Receiver

Terry McLaurin ($7,900) and Will Fuller V ($7,400) are the two top receivers on the slate, and you need to get at least one of them in your lineup. On the off chance Kenny Golladay ($7,000) plays, he would be one of my favorite tournament plays on the slate, as he would likely come in with single-digit ownership due to injury concerns.

Brandin Cooks ($6,500) and Marvin Jones Jr. ($6,000) are both great options as well, as you are going to want as many players in the Lions vs Texans game as possible. If you are looking to punt, Cam Sims ($4,800) is my favorite play, as he has the most favorable matchup and has flashed his big-play ability already this year.

While you can not go wrong with any of the Pittsburgh receiving options, I would certainly not advise more than one, as I would much rather be stacking either of the other games that project to be higher scoring.

I would view the Cowboys receivers in the same way, though their prices are a little more expensive for what they offer with Andy Dalton under center. Also none of the Baltimore receivers are in play for me, as Lamar Jackson either completes a pass to Mark Andrews or throws an incomplete pass.
