FanDuel NFL picks, Week 12: Thanksgiving Day slate advice
FanDuel NFL Thanksgiving Slate Picks and Advice: Tight End
While normally I recommend punting the tight end position, it is a little different when there are only three games on the slate. This is because you do not have the same low ownership advantage when there are much fewer options to choose from.
T.J. Hockenson ($6,000) is my favorite play, though keep your eye on the injury report as he is dealing with a shoulder injury. Logan Thomas ($5,000) and Dalton Schultz ($5,300) both should receive enough volume to pay off their price tag, but if you want a better shot at a touchdown I would go with Jordan Akins ($5,200) or Darren Fells ($4,900), as Watson loves to find his tight ends in the red zone.
FanDuel NFL Thanksgiving Slate Picks and Advice: D/ST
Similar to tight end, it is not as advantageous to punt defense in a small slate, as every defense will still possess a relatively high ownership. Pittsburgh ($4,700) is my favorite defensive play on the slate, as I do not see the Ravens offense getting going without their run game and Lamar Jackson has not been his 2019 self.
If D’Andre Swift and Kenny Golladay are unable to go again, Houston ($3,900) is a solid bet to hold a damaged Lions team in check. If you really need to save cash, you could do worse than Dallas at $3,300 who should be able to pay off their value with at least one turnover against Alex Smith.
FanDuel NFL Thanksgiving Slate Lineup
- QB Deshaun Watson – $8,700
- RB Antonio Gibson – $6,800
- RB Duke Johnson – $6,100
- WR Terry McLaurin – $7,900
- WR Will Fuller V – $7,400
- WR Marvin Jones Jr – $6,000
- TE Mark Andrews – $6,800
- FLEX Gus Edwards – $5,200
- D/ST Pittsburgh – $4,700
This lineup is heavily focused on the Houston Texans, who project to be the highest-scoring team on the slate. However, it also gets you talented pieces on the Ravens and Football Team who make up a majority of their respective offenses.
If you want to get some Steeler involvement, you could replace Jones Jr with Diontae Johnson and downgrade Andrews to Hockenson. The most important thing you can do now is keep an eye on the injury reports, as how you build your lineup will be heavily reliant on players like Swift and Golladay being active or inactive.
